Aug 31 - Day 11

Didn't wake up until close to 9:45 this morning; the little one played quietly in her bed for me. Made 2 soft cooked eggs for breakfast; a long with a cup of hot tea (2 Tbsp sugar & 2 Tbsp milk). Had enough Tang to take 2 Ibuprofen and a BioAstin capsule.

Had a doctor's appointment at 11:25 am. The polyp from the left ovary was benign (thank goodness); didn't say anything about the possible polyp of the right ovary. My uterus is still "inflamed;" but the doc said that is probably due to giving birth (naturally) to 3 big babies. He also said that my uterus dropped more when checked during surgery than when he checked when I was in the office. Said that could also be due to giving birth to 3 big babies; stretched out the muscles. Wants me to keep a "pain diary" (what activity that gives me pain down there, how much pain, and for how long, etc.) for the next three months and come back in in November. Then we will go from there on what to do. He also ordered me to workout 6x a week for at least 45 minutes with a heart rate of 120.

After the doctor's appointment I sat in the car, called my mother (to update her on what's going on), and ate the other half of the small box Whopper's (feeling depressed).

Finish the tea until around 1:30 pm. Didn't eat lunch till about 2:40 pm. Had a turkey & cheese sandwich (2 slices bread, 2 Tbsp cream cheese, 6 thin slices turkey, 3 thin slices Munster cheese).

Ate a couple handfuls of Fishes with the little one at about 7 o'clock tonight along with my second cup of hot tea (2 Tbsp sugar & 2 Tbsp milk). Half an hour later I finished off the remaining turkey and cheese pinwheel from last night's supper while making Red Velvet Cupcakes for tomorrow.

Just pulled the last of the cupcakes out of the oven. I think I'll ice the cupcakes tomorrow morning. Which means I need to set my alarm & make a note to hubby that he'll need to help with the little one in the morning. Crossing my fingers that they came out yummy!

Aug 30 - Day 10

Woke up around 8:30 am this morning. Got the little one up and dressed right away. Decided to make her some oatmeal with vanilla yogurt (she only ate about 3/4 of it). Had a cup of coffee (with 2 1/2 Tbsp sugar & coffee creamer) while getting the little one's breakfast; then totally forgot to make any breakfast for myself.

Was going to take the little one with me to run errands this morning, but hubby watched her instead. Stopped by 'Heavenly Pines Jewelry' and got my rings cleaned - and asked to if they sold Hamilton watches for hubby (they don't). Went over to the post office and mailed 3 boxes (one to S.I.L., one to youngest sister, and a shirt return for hubby) and a couple of bills. Stopped by Food Lion to pick up a few items I missed putting on the list for hubby yesterday (plus a few extra items). Lastly, I swung by and paid our rent for next month.

For lunch I made the little one, you guessed it, a PB&J sandwich. She didn't eat all of it (maybe about half). After putting her down for her 1 pm nap I made myself another burrito (rice, Swiss cheese, black beans, chopped tomatoes, sour cream, and light Catalina dressing) and only could eat about two-thirds. Had the second cup of coffee (with 2 1/2 Tbsp sugar and coffee creamer).

Worked on painting the glass candle holder during lunch. Had to wake the little one at 3 pm for a 3:30 doctor's appointment. Found out she had exema on the back of her arms.

Decided to have turkey, ham, American cheese, and Munster cheese on tortilla wraps - roll ups or pinwheels. Took another BioAstin capsule with a glass of Tang.

Aug 29 - Day 9

The little one let me sleep in till about 9 am this morning. Made us both 2 scrabbled eggs for breakfast. I added 2 Tbsp ketchup and 1 Tbsp mustard to mine. Of course, the little one didn't have any on her eggs so she wanted to eat mine; so I just added her's to mine and she at her part just fine. Again, I had my usual cup of hot tea with 2 1/2 Tbsp sugar and 2 Tbsp milk. And another, and another, and another....a total 6 cups total all with 2 1/2 Tbsp sugar and 2 Tbsp milk....total of 15 Tbsp (just under 1 cup) sugar and 12 Tbsp (3/4 cup) milk.

Worked on several necklaces for the three nurses that took care of before, during, and after surgery.

Decided to make PB&J with 2 tortilla wraps instead of bread. Also cut it into star shapes for the little one (made about 5 stars). I ate the in between parts of the PB&J; of course with another cup of hot tea.

Cleaned up the desk area and cabinet above. Made a "To Do List" on the board for tomorrow; so I can start really getting going on checking off the list. Finished off a fourth necklace. Got the glass candle holder ready to paint for tomorrow.

For supper we had burritos (rice, shredded cheese, black beans, chopped tomatoes, sour cream, and light Catalina dressing). Again, the little one ate about one-third of my burrito while I had only two-thirds. Took a BioAstin capsule with a cup of coffee (2 1/2 Tbsp sugar and 2 Tbsp coffee milk). After the little one went down for bed had a bite of hubby's ice cream (Ben & Jerry's CinnaBun).

Aug 28 - Day 8

Woke up to my hubby bringing the little one back to bed, and her wanting to play with my hair. After a little while, finally got up and got breakfast. Had a cup of reheated coffee (3 Tbsp sugar & 2 Tbsp Italian Creme milk) while fixing the little one's breakfast. Now that I'm sitting down to write all this out, I really don't remember if I even ATE breakfast besides the cup of coffee.

After breakfast and before my M.I.L. got here, I decided to vacuum all the floor space that has carpet. Little one doesn't like the noise of the vacuum cleaner, so daddy had to hold her. M.I.L. got her a little bit before lunch, so didn't have time to go "girl" shopping today.

For lunch I had another burrito (rice, shredded cheese, black beans, tomatoes, sour cream, light Catalina dressing all on a tortilla shell). Of course, the little one ate about one-third of it while I ate only two-thirds of the burrito. Had a glass of Tang with lunch.

After putting the little one down for a nap; M.I.L. and I were going to go get pedicures. Drove over and found out that they are now closed on Sundays; so we decided to go shopping instead. I picked up some cross-stitch thread and tissue paper at Michael's (tissue paper for making 3-D butterflies for the little one's wall). Looked in at Bath & Body Works, Pier 1 Imports, and Belks. Had to swing by Walmart for some more diapers for the little one and get some cash. Picked up a small box of Whopper's and ate about 1/2 of it. Hopped over to Goodwill to check on clothes for the little one (wearing 2T and 3T shirts - and growing fast). Walking around that much only a couple days after mys surgery kind of did me in.

Was going to make spaghetti for supper, but hubby wanted something lighter. Looked it freezer and saw some Sockeye Salmon fillet. I ate about 2 1/2 - 3 oz of the fish and another glass of Tang with my BioAstin capsule.

Tomorrow's another day. Trying to do better at eating; since I can't go walking again until after the doc gives me the thumbs up.

Aug 27 - Day 7

Even after a rough night (tossing, turning, heartburn, hot and then cold) got up around 9:15ish am without being too tired. Got the little one's egg around while her daddy got her up and and diaper changed. Also got an egg for me (even though the little one ate the white part and I only ate the yolk) and a cup of hot tea (with 2 1/2 Tbsp sugar & 2 Tbsp milk). Took a couple ibuprofen and a BioAstin (for the pain and to help heal my skin from the bruising). Also, found out that only one egg isn't enough for the little one anymore. She also ate some of her daddy's yogurt and granola.

A little bit before noon, got a cup of coffee (with 2 1/2 Tbsp sugar & 2 Tbsp milk). Around 2 pm had a half of an English muffin with 1 tsp butter and 1 1/2 tsp peanut butter. A little while later had a square of Ghirardelli Intense Dark Twilight Delight chocolate (.375 oz).

Between 4:06 and 4:15 pm I finished off the little one's hot dog from lunch; while putting on the rice for supper. Ate supper a little after 6 pm. Had burritos (rice, shredded cheese, black beans, diced tomatoes, and sour cream all in a tortilla shell). I shared mine with the little one, so I ate about two-thirds and she ate the other third. Took my BioAstin capsule with a glass of Tang. Thinking about finishing off the last 1/2 of butterscotch pudding (about 3 oz) after I put the little one down to bed here in 5 minutes.

Aug 26 - Day 6

Woke up around 9 am this morning (tried to sleep in as late as the little one would let me). Got the little one dressed; so I wouldn't forget later on. Since she didn't eat most of her supper last night; I heated it up and she gobbled it up. I so wanted to fix a couple of eggs and some hot tea, but of course I can't have anything to eat or drink till after my surgery.

In for diagnostic laparoscopy surgery. Going to take a polyp off my left ovary, check the right ovary and uterus, and check the organs around.

Had to show up at noon to start the check-in process, which didn't take that long. The nurse came and got me a little before 1 pm. Of course I had to give them a pee sample, which wasn't much. Then take everything off and put everything in the bag that had the gown, socks, and head cover was in.

Was awake until they wheeled me into the operating room, then the next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery room with an oxygen mask on. The surgery didn't take as long as I thought it would. By the time I was through all of recovery and getting dressed; the little one was up from her nap and my husband could come pick me up.

Made a cup of tea (with 2 1/2 Tbsp sugar & 2 Tbsp milk) while making an early supper (around 4:30 pm) since I am very hungry after not eating all that time before (was freezing). Ate 2 hot dogs sandwiches (total: 2 hot dog buns, 2 hot dogs, 2 Tbsp ketchup, 2 tsp mustard, 4 pickle slices). After putting the little one down for bed, I finished off the Ultimate Chocolate Cookie Dough (not even 1 cup). Though I was okay after that, but around 9:30-10 pm I got a little hungry again and really thirsty. So, I got some Gold Fish, the last of the Tang, and a bottle of water (which I didn't finish the water). Didn't read the paperwork saying that I should EASE into eating anything....oops.

Bled through a little while I was at home, but stopped during the night. Also had really bad heartburn and had to go sleep on the couch around 1-2 in the morning. Every so often I get a pain in my right shoulder, then a sharp pain up the left side of my back to the point of not being able to sleep.

Aug 25 - Day 5

Didn't wake up till 9:20 this morning. Didn't eat anything for breakfast till 10 am; was waiting to see if the little one woke up. You probably can guess what we had for breakfast. Nope, the little one had her egg and I had my cup of hot tea with an English muffin.

Made her PB&J and usual for lunch. I can't remember what I had for lunch - actually I don't think I had lunch. About mid-afternoon I started making the sausage links for supper (ate a couple after they cooled).

Worked mostly on the pink and black necklace (which I had to start from the beginning again).

Decided to do something simple for supper tonight. So, I scrambled some eggs and heated up the sausage links. I had 2 links and the equivalent of 2 eggs.

Couldn't get to sleep till after 11 pm. A little nervous about tomorrow.

Aug 24 - Day 4

Got up later than I wanted to (a little after 9 am). Got around and made my daughter's and my breakfast; eggs again. Again, had 2 soft cooked eggs & my usual cup of hot tea; which I shared some of the egg whites with my daughter.

Finished stringing my 2nd pink and black necklace; but thinking on how to string it for a multi-strand necklace I think I might have to back track a lot.

Fed the little one her usual PB&J for lunch. Of course, she wanted some of the chips daddy was eating. Ate a tablespoonful of peanut butter.

The little one went down for a nap right on time, and I went out for my 3 lap walk. I slowed down today so I wouldn't get any injuries - 28 minutes. Need to work on building up my shin muscles again; that or I need to buy new walking shoes.

Got back and had a bottle of water (16.9 oz) and a BioAstin (since I forgot to take it this morning). Then made myself an open faced egg sandwich (with 1 Tbsp each ketchup and mustard; and 4 slices of Colby Jack cheese) on the bottom half of an English muffin. Also had 4 slices of Colby Jack cheese and another cup of hot tea.

Decided to have salmon and mandarin orange salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Took another BioAstin capsule with a swig of my husband's green tea. Waited until after the little one went to bed before having about 1 1/2 cups of dad-in-laws dessert (Dump Cake).

Well, we'll see what tomorrow holds. Would like to walk again tomorrow before surgery on Friday. Won't be walking for a while after that; until the doc says I can.

Aug 23 - Day 3

Today didn't go the way I planned! Got up and made our (my daughter's and mine) breakfast; eggs. I had two, soft yolk, eggs with my hot tea. I wasn't planning on walking until after the little one went down for a nap. Since my husband went for a run, washed the car, and took a shower himself in the morning. Figured he was going to be working on work or homework, so I would have time. He decided to go out and check on some work he's been doing for a company, and talk to a mechanic/friend about a second car. So, I didn't go for my walk today. I also didn't eat lunch - totally forgot!

Worked on getting some of my reading done on the computer that I had saved. Also helped daughter with coloring. She decided to color her plastic chair instead of the paper.

Fixed spinach and cheese tortellini with spaghetti sauce for supper. Only had one serving due to not having any leftovers. Had a couple of bites of butterscotch pudding while feeding it to my daughter. Had 2 squares of Ghirardelli Intense Dark Twilight Delight chocolate (.75 oz total). Had a total of 6 cups of hot tea (2 1/2 Tbsp sugar and 2 Tbsp milk each).

Like I said.....had a bad day.

Aug 22 - Day 2

Didn't walk this morning due to my right hip hurting. Had 2 eggs, soft yolks, and a cup of hot tea (with sugar and milk) for breakfast.

Played with my little girl before working on a black and pink necklace with angel wings for a pendent. Was almost done when the string broke and I had to restring the necklace. Finished that while the little one was down for a nap; along with another cup of hot tea.

Had a honey smoked ham sandwich (two slices white bread, 2 tsp light mayo, 1 pre-sliced American cheese, and 9 thin slices ham). Also had a big bowl of Dump Cake for dessert (approximately 2 cups).

Started a second black and pink necklace before dinner. Made 2-3 cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with a bottle (16.9 oz) of water. Then played on the floor with my daughter for a good 45 minutes before typing my blog.

Thinking about getting a little bit of butterscotch pudding and sharing it with my daughter. Might finish the second necklace after putting her down for bed. Planning on going for my walk tomorrow morning when it's still cool out. Then I have a whole 'To Do' list I have to tackle.

Aug 21 - Day 1

Day one started out on a good foot. Did three laps around our little circle (1.8 miles) in 17 minutes. Wasn't pushing my little girl in the stroller, so that helped a little. Then my parent-in-laws came over and brought dessert :-( Of course the problem was the dessert - NOT the in-laws! I held myself back and only had a small portion. But they let me keep most of it for later consumption. Since I didn't know that they were going to bring dessert, I also made dessert - butterscotch pudding. Now I have both in my refrigerator to eat whenever I please. Not good when I want to LOOSE weight!

Here are the first pictures - these were taken AFTER my walk.

The Beginning

This is a blog about my daily successes and failures of trying to lose weight. Since it's almost been 21 months (1 year and 9 months) after my daughter's birth, I think I should actually start working on getting rid of this "baby weight." Of course there will be pictures every so often to show my progress.
